The Nouveau Beaujolais Tradition In the Beaujolais region, the third Thursday in November is a special day – the day of the Nouveau wine release. A culmination of the autumn harvest, the first wine of that vintage is released as a preview glimpse of the quality of that year’s wine - and, of course, as a great excuse for a party! Wenwood's Simply Nouveau is a celebration not only of harvest, but of the first vineyard in Missouri to enter the arduous process to become certified organic, Gascony Vineyards. Working in partnership with Wenwood Farm Winery, we have produced this dry red wine full of fruitiness and pizazz, to be enjoyed while young, and to anticipate the summer release of Simply Chambourcin, a more aged and refined version of the wine from this wonderful sustainedly grown grape.
