Our Harvest Home Festival wouldn't be complete without our annual Homebrew/Homemade Wine Competition! A no-pressure, people's choice contest, this one is a blast with great prizes. So, if you've tried your hand at making your own libations, bring them out to share with those who share your passion for the art of making wine or beer!
Contest Details: Enter in 5 Homemade Wine & Homebrew Beer Categories: Wine/dry; Wine/semi-dry/semi-sweet; Wine/sweet; Beer/whole grain; Beer/intermediate & extract. $4 Entry Fee per Entry: No entry limit! 72 fluid ounces required of each entry (approximately three 750ml wine bottles or six 12oz beers.) Category determined at check-in. Early entries appreciated!
Times: Contest check-in: 11 am to 12:30 pm (NO late entries!) Mandatory contestant's meeting: 12:30 pm. Beer/Wine Tasting for Prizes: 1 - 3 pm - Prizes awarded at 4 pm
Judging: This is a people's choice contest!! Guests of the winery will purchase a souvenir tasting glass ($10), taste samples of the entrants wines and beers, and vote for their favorite. All tasting proceeds from the tasting glasses benefit Earth's Classroom, a non-profit environmental learning center.
Prizes: A ribbon will be awarded for each prize, in addition to:
Best of Show: $100 Wenwood Farm Winery Gift Certificate Best of Wine & Best of Beer Prizes! Plus First, Second & Third prizes awarded in each category!
